“The time will pass anyway. You can either spend it creating the life you want or spend it living the life you don’t want. The choice is your’s.”
Time. We are all given the same about of time … 24 hours in a day, 60 seconds in a minute. It may seem different but that is due mainly to the fact of how we each spend that precious time. The choice is your’s on how you spend it. You only have one chance so you want to choose wisely. Make sure you are living the life you want. As I look over the past few years, I think about how quickly it went by. I have also started reflecting on how I spent my time. Did I really do the things that I wanted to? Did I over commit myself? Did I take too many chances or was I too cautious? Time is one of the most heartfelt gifts that you can give anyone. Being fully committed in that moment is pretty special especially when they have your undivided attention. You want to make sure that when you are asked to do something, that your yes is actually going to be worthwhile and that you will be devoted to it. Lysa Terkeurst wrote a book called “The Best Yes”. Basically it is about when you say yes to something, you want to make sure you are giving your best yes. “Whenever you say yes to something, there is less of you for something else. Make sure your yes is worth the less.” Saying yes to everything is a quick way to over commit yourself. As I move into this next stage of life, I begin thinking about my life and how I want to spend it. “The decisions you make today matter. Every decision points your life in the direction you are about to travel. No decision is an isolated choice. It’s a chain of events. If you choose wisely, your future will reflect that.” So let’s start now in really spending our time wisely and giving our best yes.
